Matt Fergen’s first job was, in his mind, his most important so far.  He was a cook and server for the Lory Student Center Catering Department.  Matt thinks that everyone should work in the service industry so they can learn and respect that part of our work force.

Matt was then offered an internship at Forney Industries where he was an Operations Intern, working on creating and managing a Kanban Inventory Management system while also running day-to-day orders and operations for the warehouse.  After requesting a change in scenery, he was moved to Sales and Marketing.  There he worked on marketing techniques for DIY retailers like Do It Best and ACE.

Matt then took a Supply Chain Internship with Wolf Robotics, learning how to buy, manage and set project schedules for engineers that built custom welding, cutting and grinding robots.

Currently, he is an Account Manager for Universal Forest Products, a position he’s held since graduating from CSU.   He is responsible for eight million dollars in business.  Matt works a large territory of Colorado and into Albuquerque, New Mexico.  He recently passed his exam to become a Crossfit Level 1 Trainer.
